چکیده
Aplasia cutis and other scarring alopecias Congenital absence of skin (aplasia cutis) presents on the scalp as one or more noninflammatory well defined oval or circular ulcers, crusted areas (fig 1) or as scars. Lesions usually occur over the vertex in or adjacent to the midline and may involve skin only or occasionally may extend deeply to bone and dura. Complications include secondary infection, bleeding, and meningitis with deeper lesions. Occasionally other developmental defects are present and there may be a family history of aplasia cutis.2
